...for conflict management training

Maybo can help clients to reduce time away from work and costs through a blended learning approach. This allows staff to gain the knowledge and theory on-line and through workplace projects. This ensures that direct training time is optimised to develop practical skills and confidence.

The Maybo's violence risk management learning and resource centre has modules suited to the employee's job role.

Induction: Maybo has produced an introduction to conflict management as a specific induction module. This enables its clients to give new employees vital information on staying safe as soon as they join. New employees can work through the module in two or three hours. They can then at a later date join other colleagues to complete the training which will be done face-to-face.

Core modules include:

  • understanding work related violence
  • risk assessment
  • self-awareness
  • communication
  • diffusing and calming skills
  • post incident

Refresher module:

The module is designed for all those who have already undergone Maybo training. While it is recommended face-to-face training of conflict resolution skills is updated every three years employees find it valuable to refresh in the interim. This module buids on the basic elements of the training and is updated in response to legislation.

In the pre-learning, refresher and induction modules delegates work their way through each module, and have a knowledge check at the end of each section. Where weaknesses are revealed, further explanations are provided.

Evaluation: The Learning and Resource Centre has powerful evaluation tools that assess staff perceptions of risk and the workplace effectiveness of training and other controls. This allows professional management reports to be drawn down at any time.

The personal portfolio enables delegates to access project work completed throughout the learning. It also offers you the opportunity to create a personal review, looking at your strengths and weaknesses, and your personal action plan

The resource centre can be pre-loaded with conflict management policy and guidance supplied by the employer.

The e-learning tools make up part of the learning and resource centre. The learning modules can be integrated with the management tools, and/or used by tutors on the Licensed Tutor Training programme.
